Are we being Led by God?

Being led by the spirit of God?

Every one says they are being led by the spirit of God but each are being directed in different directions. Why is that?
Is it not true that each one of us would like to think that we are truly being lead by God’s Spirit.
If every one is being lead the same spirit, why in fact are their so many different ideas and opinions and ways?
Could it be that we are all truly blind and that being blind, we are all just expressing our own opinions and ideas?
(Six blind men and the Elephant)
It was six men of Indostan To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant (Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation might satisfy his mind.
The First approach'd the Elephant, And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:"God bless me! but the Elephant Is very like a wall!
"The Second, feeling of the tusk, Cried, -"Ho! what have we here
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me 'tis mighty clear This wonder of an Elephant Is very like a spear!
"The Third approached the animal, And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands, Thus boldly up and spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant Is very like a snake!
"The Fourth reached out his eager hand, And felt about the knee.
"What most this wondrous beast is like is mighty plain," quoth he,"
'Tis clear enough the Elephant Is very like a tree!
"The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear, Said: "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most; Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an Elephant Is very like a fan!
"The Sixth no sooner had begun About the beast to grope,
Then, seizing on the swinging tail That fell within his scope,
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant Is very like a rope!"
And so these men of Indostan Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

To be led by the Spirit we first need to realize in order to be led, we will have to follow.
And in order to follow we need to get ourselves out of the way.

Most of us that are not used to following will need to create some new habits.

Consider the Israelites that were lead by God in the wilderness.
Exo 13:21 Those of us that are leaders will need to stop and wait on the Lord. They will need to make a special effort to be patient and not get in front of him. God lead the Israelites by a cloud in the day and a pillar of fire in the night. If we get in front of him, we will no be following and thus, no longer be in his presences. Being out of his presents will then result in doing things our own way. And the Bible says that Gods ways are not our ways. And that way is with out the spirit of God. And with out the light guiding us, we will be like the blind men arguing what they perceive the Elephant looks like. The spirits job is not to follow us but rather us to follow him.

What about these of us that don’t have a problem of getting ahead, but rather are just not used to following. Just as the Israelites had to be on the move so are we if we are following God’s Spirit. When back then when the cloud by day and the fire by night moved, the Israelites had to pack up and follow where ever God lead them. If they didn’t follow, they to would be left behind, out of the presents of God and without the light.

How many of us don’t realize that we are truly blind, professing that his presences dwell with us?

In the tabernacle the first room contained a candle stick holder or a lamp stand that held the light for to see. With out the light, we would be blind just like the six men from Indostan. Feeling around the things of God, thinking that they truly comprehend when all the while being grossly mislead and thinking that every one else is wrong.

Are we walking in the light as he is in the light?
